11/23

So today we learned more about integrals and the two parts of the F.T.C. To me, I'm still trying to fully understand the whole concept of the "anti-derivatives" and "indefinite and definite" integration. For me, its fuzzy when it comes to understanding the whole idea of how integration gives you the original function when a derivative is integrated. Its hard for me to visualize why the area of a curve gives you the original function, or the function family.
Anyways, as thanksgiving comes along.. and we dont have class for a whole week, its going to be hard to get things done and learn the material b4 the test. I want to make sure that I understand all the information b4 i move on. Well thats enuff for noww so pce.

10/27

Today we learned about how to find relative and absolute min and maxs. The concept is review, but the systematic approach is different. It all makes perfect sense because if we take account of the critical points and the endpoints, there is no other points that can possibly be greater or lesser. Today we also handed-in our test. It was great that Mr. Flint gave us the opportunity to save our grades, however, it made me realize how inexperienced I am to that type of questions. All of the questions were tough because they made me use everything I learned from the past units/years. It was great because the test served as a learning experience. Well thats pretty much it for now. I'm beginning to start the hw assigned today so I can get some work done in these next few days to make sure I understand it b4 we move on. pce.

10/2

So today we went over some more derivative problems concerning quotients and product properties. I realized that when you simplify the problem before you apply the rules, it makes it sooo much easier. Im really glad that the test was moved because this weekend i wouldnt have any time to study and I didnt really finish all of the hw :/ . Another thing that we did today was to find the equation of the tangent lines that passes through a givin point. Even though it all made perfect sense to me, it is going to take a while to get used to. Ill blog again after the weekend to see how things went with studying and etc. Pce.

9/22

Today was confusing. Originally i thought that I was somewhat confident of the questions on the worksheet.. but after getting the real answers to the questions, im not so sure anymore. for example, the questions and are both nonexistent. My mistake was that i didnt account for the limit as x approaches 0 from both sides. I just assumed that x was approaching the positive value would be the same as negative. This made me realize that there are some instances in which i need to really focus and understand what is happening. Other than that, i think that im in good shape when it comes to things like continuity and differentiability. Im grateful that the test is moved to friday since i have an english test on the same day :O . So yeahh hopefully ill be able to understand everything by then. pce

9/21

Today, we talked about difference quotients and reviewed what is going to be on the test. It was generally a slow day for me since i couldnt really wake up this morning. Well we have a test on thursdayy and Im going to really crack down and study to make sure i understand everything. Im not really that naturally good at math so I have to work to make sure i get everything -_-. Soo yeahh. I just finished the limits worksheet with bchu and it seems simple enoughh. I have to make sure i understand all of the basic things. im going to start doing section 3.1 and 3.2 tomorrow when i have a little more timee. pce

9/18

Friday at last! Anyways today was a good day because we learned the last aspect of the "foundation" to calculus. Hopefully i can get good at these so i can actually understand calc because i hope to pursue a career that involves a lot of the things that we're learning this year. So far it seems to be simple and easy to understand. Hopefully i can be able to grasp the information that we're going through in the future.
Differentiability, or however you spell it, seems to make alot of sense. Im not exactly sure in how we will be able to use them, but im sure things in the future will start to get freaky :O. Hopefully i can remember things that we were taught last year by Mr. Cascione because i forgot alot of it. But im sure things will start to pop up in my head as we go over things.
so yeah thats enough for nowww soo peace.
